Published in Italy

July 23, 2010

My pics from the Tim Robbins shoot earlier this year have just been published in an Italian newspaper :) Building up to Tim’s new album release in September.

Lea: Amanda! Fotografo Extrodinaire! in tutto il mondo famoso, amico del famoso! Congratulazioni favolose :D

Lea: ( hee hee - hope that worked ok, I used babelfish :p )

Melody G: Woohooo! That's awesome Amanda. What a buzz for you!

Susan Wall: That is so very exciting! well done to you!

Karen Villiers: wow that is amazing congratulations Amanda how exciting for you.. xo

Cass: Woohoo! Celebrity photographer! "Well, yes, I had my maternity pictures taken by celebrity photographer Amanda Reelick" Thankyouverymuch :)

Virginie: waouw, entering a new world he!

This was at the start of a shoot, sadly not the end…. totally my fault (but good lesson learnt). Fortunately there were no tears :)

Not long before we’re off on more european adventures. On our way home from our last Belgium trip, we were sitting on a train in London and my son was amazed to hear people speaking english. “Mummy I didn’t know they speak english in England!?!” he exclaimed. Beautiful.

Cass: And this picture is beautiful too. And slightly sad when you realise they weren't meant to be floating away like that. But that somehow adds to it x

Kristy Bradford: Oh no LOL! But at least you got one awesome shot of them!

Hayley: Oh dear Amanda...that is your money flying away up there huh! Oh well...makes an interesting perspective.....

Marieke: Oh no! Funny how kids' brains work aye? btw does he speak french or flemmish as well?

Simone Carter: You know, this would be one that I would get big for my wall - love the colours and perspective :-)

Bec: Oh no! It made for an awesome photo at least. The colours are wonderful.

amanda reelick: Yup Hayley, but I'm glad it was mine and not a client's! Only french Marieke, maybe flemish one day! Just printed this to give to the little girl who lost it and was trying to show her mum where the balloons went :)

Robyn Geering: oh no, not a great start to the session lol. Wow your off OS again, have fun.

Robyn Geering: btw, it made for a great shot

Tin.: oh how funny, little Marlon!!

Winter Afternoons

June 23, 2010

Family portrait sessions on a sunny winter afternoon have me squealing quietly for joy. Beautiful soft golden light without keeping the kids up past their bedtime.

It takes a little more effort to find the right day weather wise, but the results are so worth it.

Sophie: Gorgeous gorgeous soft light. Agreed - well work the effort!

Melanie Birt: gorgeous light... great image...

Little Charlie is growing growing inside his gorgeous mummy’s tummy and eagerly awaited by his beautiful family. Stayed tuned to meet him here sometime in August… argh can’t wait.

After a wonderful month in Brussels, a few days in London, we flew directly back to NZ (one hour Singapore stop over is perfect when we are lucky enough to score empty planes) arriving late Friday night. 3am Monday I was up getting ready to fly to Australia. The airport Park and Drive is wonderful except when you arrive back 4 days later, midnight, it is pouring with rain and your car battery is flat (no, I didn’t leave the lights on, dodgy battery is all).

I spent four days with some amazing american and australian photographers in a mansion on the coast. Here are some pics from a family shoot I had on our last day. How gorgeous are they!

Louise Treacy Photography: Just goregous - I love you processing on these. You must be needing a well deserved rest after all that!lol

Cass: SO beautiful and the colours are AMAZING! Such great expressions and feeling too. You are brilliant.

Cass: Wow! What a cool idea!

Mary: Sounds very cool. Going to send you an e-mail. Do you still have places?

Was so thrilled when Diane asked me photograph her wedding. I knew it would be magical, indeed it was. She was STUNNING. I loved the day and adore the resulting images. How can you go wrong with such a beautiful couple.

Sophy and Katie did a gorgeous job with hair and makeup, the gorgeous bouquets were by Starz Florist and Kumeu Valley Estate was the perfect venue.

Cass: Oh Amanda! She is stunning! The whole sequence of images is stunning... BUT the fourth one down, on the right... bride and groom standing in a field on their own... WOW! Took my breath away!

Fiona Rogerson: Wow, these are really beautiful! Beautiful light, and a stunning bride!

Christine: Oh my goodness Amanda... these are SO SO SO perfect! What stunning portraits of a beautiful wedding party and bride + groom! :) LOVE THEM!

Derek Cook: Love the bother boys!!

Janet Palmer: Gorgeous!!! :) soo pretty!

Bekie Marie: Breathtaking!!

David: Loverly set of images the last one is my favorite.

After a long wait in Singapore (around 12 hours and worries about what volcanic ash was doing to create so many engineering problems), we finally made it to London late Sunday and arrived in Belgium a day later. Spring is in the air and the trees are blooming (must get a pic of the gorgeous cherry blossom trees, I’m looking at one in Sarah’s back yard right now). Gorgeous for session pics!

In the meantime, another from Di and Brad’s wedding. Full post very soon!

Cass: This has a surreal, kind of Alice in Wonderland feel too it. Wonderful!

Cass: PS: how about a pregnant woman blossoming (uh-hmm...) under the cherry blossom. Said aforementioned pregnant woman also willing to climb trees, emerge from bambles, do crazy make-up, jump with baloons and ride bike... Anything basically to get an Amanda Reelick photo to remember her pregnancy by.

Rana: So cool, love it :)

Hayley: Gorgeous shot Amanda...definitely magical!

Lisa Barnes: Great shot Amanda. Quietly envious of your escapades.

Melanie kellermann: Very cool, love this!

Jo Ashworth: yep magical! look forward to more freom Belgium

Robyn Geering: beeaauuttiful, what a stunning wedding, and what a gorgeous couple. They are simply going to love these.

Robyn Geering: oops, my post was supposed to go on the full wedding blog entry :-) glad you arrived safetly.

Location Location

April 20, 2010

I’m looking for fabulous locations preferably a field of wild flowers that can be stomped through (I know, I don’t ask for much)… both Auckland and Brussels. Fields, old beautiful farmhouses etc. Anything open and picturesque. Preferably north of Auckland city.

I’ll send a Cafe Windsor voucher for coffee and cake to any successful leads :)

Katie Toland: Great idea for a post! These pics are freaking fantastic!! Love, love, love them.

Johanna: Love it!! beautiful work Amanda! I know of a few fields down south! You're welcome anytime!

Amanda Radovic: Oh wow Amanda, this is so pretty and pastel(y). Such pretty rim light too.

Jodie: I love this pic Amanda - so feminine and soft.

Bekie Marie: Love the idea of posting for location idea's!! I'd love to find one of them locations too :) Love this photo, so girly! *sigh*

Eva Wissmann: Hi Amanda! What a beautiful website you created!! Are you still in NZ? Here in St-Truiden you can make fantastic pics now...because all the fruit-threes are full of blossoms (little colourfull flowers) Perfect location I would say ;-) Take care & hope to see you soon! EVA

dani: what a lovely image!!!

Kyleigh and Steve: Gorgeous photos Amanda - when are you coming to Wellington so we can book you for some family shots?
